Lindani Mthethwa is the Acting Executive Director for the Centre for Public Service Innovation (CPSI) as of July 2019. Prior to this, he was Head: Solution Support and Incubation at the CPSI.
Lindani Mthethwa started his career as a teacher with the Department of Education, KZN. He has also worked as an Education Specialist in the Education Information Management System (EMIS) unit within the Department of Education. He later joined the Education Foundation Trust, an NGO consultancy, involved in education analysis, financing, planning and use of ICTs in education as a Senior Analyst.
In 2004, he joined the Centre for Public Service Innovation as Director: Access and ICT responsible for the implementation of General Services Counters in Thusong Centres and Batho Pele Gateway. Under him, the unit made various achievements including the ‘one face’ of government website www.gov.za, ‘Check Your Marital Status, the ‘Track and Trace’ system at Home Affairs and Urban Thusong Centres (e.g. Maponya Mall).
He holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree and a Higher Education Diploma (HED) from the University of the North (Turfloop), a Masters of Philosophy (M Phil) in Economic Policy from Stellenbosch University and various advanced training certificates.
He is passionate about the use of ICTs, Innovation and Foresighting to improve socio-economic conditions and service delivery for the citizens and the country as a whole.
